Ev-entz April Update

In Blog by admin

Its been another busy month for the Ev-entz crew, with the hire team working all across the UK and the shop staff working hard with new products added, and the launch of our very first Yamaha product day.

Youth music courses

Our expert hire and stage management team have been travelling the country providing percussion to two of the UK’s most exciting youth music courses, the National Children’s Orchestra and the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain. With the course culminating in their Landscapes and Seascapes concert in Bristol’s Colton Hall, the National Children’s Orchestra have been a friend of us at Ev-entz for a number of years. Not only have we been providing our high-quality equipment, transport and stage management, David Rees (pictured in the image on the left) a member of the Ev-entz crew was also on board as a member of the course’s house staff team.
We were also delighted to be working together with the National Youth Brass Band again, this time for their easter course based in Taunton and providing logistical help moving equipment from their course venue to both concerts in Cheltenham Town Hall and Well’s Cathedral.
The team were also grateful to be working a little closer to home as well, providing their expert knowledge and high-quality equipment to the Gwent Youth Orchestra.

Throughout the course of April, the hire team have been providing for S4C’s primetime television programme, Band Cymru “an exciting and thrilling competition for brass, wind and jazz bands.” The filming is soon to come to a close, with the live final this Sunday (22nd April) which will see four of the nation’s brass bands compete to win £10,000 prize money.
The team have also been in the national spotlight recently by providing stage management, specialist crew and percussion to the BBC Young Musician Competition. If you watched this programme you may have noticed some of our equipment on show!
Finally the Ev-entz crew are excited to be working alongside the Sons of Jubal, “a male chorus composed of ministers of music and others who serve in music ministries of Georgia Baptist churches.” The group will be on tour from the 28th April with their first performance at Cardiff’s St Davids Hall, and their visit will see them performing in Flint, Coventry and London.

Yamaha and Ev-entz

Our in-store staff have been working hard introducing new products to the store such as Hill Audio products and most recently, a huge range of recently acquired new old stock of vintage drum accessories and spare parts.

Ev-entz have worked closely with Yamaha for a number of years, with a large quantity of instruments and equipment available to buy in store and online. The store had their first Yamaha Product day which saw both the retail equipment and hire fleet set up and available to try out by store visitors. The jewel in the crown in our hire fleet is the Yamaha 5 Octave Marimba, and we are grateful to be one of only a handful of hire companies in the UK to offer this fantastic instrument.
